MAYS LICK,   Charles E. Woods, 94, of May’s Lick passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.  He was born on December 5, 1921 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Raymond and Althea Ohler Woods.

Mr. Woods was formerly a resident of Miamisburg, Ohio. As a machinist with Dayton Power and Light, he moved his young family to May’s Lick and over the years became an integral, well known and cherished member of the community.  Along with being a retiree of Dayton Power and Light, he was a member of the May’s Lick Christian Church, the May’s Lick Lions Club, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Winter Woods, whose death occurred in 1972, a daughter, Nancy Jane Woods, and his former wife, Kay Qualls.

He is survived by his children; Niles (Martha) Woods, of Anchorage, Alaska, Gerald (Rebecca) Woods, of May’s Lick, and Brenda Woods, of Salvisa, KY, his grandchildren; Nathan, Julia & Cara Woods, Marion Woods, and Tanner Campbell, his sister, Jean (E. Dale) Smith, of Centerville, Ohio, good friends Sheila & Debbie, and his longtime companion Brownie of May’s Lick.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Saturday, October 29 at the Gebhart-Schmidt & Parramore Funeral Home in Miamisburg, Ohio.  Interment will follow in the Hill Grove Cemetery in Miamisburg.  A visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday at the Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory in May’s Lick.  Expressions of Sympathy are suggested to the Humane Society of Buffalo Trace, P.O.
