MAYS LICK   Judith S. Smith Lofton,73, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, September 7, 2016.  Mrs. Lofton was born on May 12, 1943 daughter of the late Robert Lee Smith Sr. and Goldie Belle Smith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She was a member of Scott United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years James E. Lofton, Sr. Six children, Denise Lofton Lewis (Anthony) of Maysville; Goldenia Faye Lofton and James E. Lofton, Jr. (Laticia) ; Melissa Lofton-Berry (Gerald) all of Louisville, KY;  Robert Cornell Lofton, Georgetown, KY and  Samantha Jean Lofton of Indianapolis, IN.  Seven grandchildren and one great-grandson; one sister  Opal Greene; four brothers, David Smith, Charles Smith, Arvin Smith and Marvin Smith. Several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends also survive.  Preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert Lee Smith, Jr: William Smith.; and sisters Vivian Taft ; Rannie Mae Jackson and Nadine Myrick.

Services will be conducted at 2:15 P.M. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Scott United Methodist Church in Maysville with Rev. James H. Turley officiating. Burial will follow in the May’s Lick Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 12:30 Saturday at the church until time of the service.  Memorials suggested to Scott United Methodist Church.  Palmer Funeral Home and Crematory of May’s Lick is serving the family.  Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
