MAYS LICK   Sally Harris Ritter passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 after a difficult battle with throat cancer.  She was a patient of Hospice Care at the home of her sister in Vass, NC.

            Sally was born in New York City on April 1942 and was the daughter of the late Dr. Robert E. “Preacher” and Dorothy Harris of Logan West Virginia.  She was the widow of James D. Ritter.

            Mrs. Ritter life-long love of art and artistic talent were the center of her interests and life’s work.  She was a talented artist and worked in many different media’s.  Her career included working as a Program Coordinator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for over twenty years.  While living in Pennsylvania, she worked for and was an ardent supporter of the Chester Springs Art Studio. Most recently she was one of the Upstairs Artist in Phoenixville, PA

            Sally is survived by her sister Linda H. (Charles) Jones of Vass, NC and nephews Mark (Leah) Ritter of Frankfort and Andy (Shelly) Ritter of Winchester.  She is also survived by her very dear friends who were with her at every step of her battle with cancer, Janice LaPorte, Neil Dreibelbis and Jeff Dippel.

            A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11 AM at the May’s Lick Cemetery with Rev. Jim Dougans of the Maysville First Presbyterian Church officiating.  Interment will be on the Ritter family lot with her husband.  Friends of the family are welcome to attend.
