Gerald E.Orme,81, of Maysville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Meadowview Regional Hospital. Gerald was born in Mason County on April 11, 1942, the son of the late Eugene & Lena Thurston Buckner Orme.
Gerald attended Sardis and May’s Lick Schools where he was a graduate of the last class of May’s Lick High School in 1960 and was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University in 1964. He taught at Mason County High School as an Industrial Arts Instructor. He later became an engineer at Emerson Power Transmission and retired in 2003. He enjoyed his in-home Custom Picture Framing Business. In the past few years, he had been an assistant at Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory. Gerald was active in the Washington Central Church where he currently served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Maysville Mason County Men’s Club.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Betty Jane Vice Orme; two sons, David (Cindy) Orme and Chris (Stephanie) Orme; four grandchildren; Dustin Orme, Seth Vice, Josh Vice, and Keshia Robinson, eight great grandchildren, Logan DeBoard, Jadrien Vice, Kesaun Vice, Hayden Kate Vice, Larkin Vice, Kierany Vice, Marlowe Vice and Remy Vice.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, March 15, 2024 at Washington Central Church, with Rev. David Combs officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Washington Central Church P.O. Box 202 Washington, KY 41096.
