Phoebe Whaley Collins, 86 of May’s Lick passed away on Monday, March 11,2024 at her home. She was the widow of John J. “Jack” Collins whose death occurred on October 21, 2023.
Mrs. Collins was born in Mason County on February 8,1938 daughter of the late James A. & Margaret Curley Whaley.
Phoebe was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Church where she served on the Altar Society, Parish Council, and used her floral design talents to decorate the church on a weekly basis. She enjoyed gardening and received numerous awards as a member of the Maysville Garden Club. She was a graduate of St Patrick High School.
Survivors include a daughter Joni Collins; a son Joe (Lori) Collins; a grandson Travis Collins; two great grandchildren, Paisley & Emma Collins; and a brother J.T. (Bernadine) Whaley. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; three sisters, Virginia Belt, Marie Dickson, and Betty Collins; and a brother Louis Whaley.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Thursday, March 14, 2024, at St Rose of Lima Church in May’s Lick with Rev. Phil DeVous celebrating. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to St. Rose of Lima Church, 211 Mt.
