DOUG POYNTER Obituary

MAYSVILLE   Morris  Douglas “Doug” Poynter, Jr., 70, of Maysville passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.  He was born on November 19, 1947 in Mason County to the late Morris Douglas Poynter, Sr. & Crecia Helphenstine Poynter. 

Mr. Poynter was an U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, and enjoyed Fishing, Indian Artifacts, Nascar, and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Poynter, and his step son, Billy Alan Poynter. 

He is survived by his special friend and caretaker Brenda Moran of Maysville, his sons, Larry (Darlene) Poynter of Cynthiana and Steven Poynter of Hot Springs, Arkansas, 6 Grandchildren, Shaun Patrick, Toshia Nicole, Steven. Alan, Tatum Leigh, Mariah Kari and Darek Allen, 2 Great Grandchildren; Brayden Alexander and Alani Francis, his sisters, Mella (Joe) LeMaster, Mary (Malcom) Cheek and Debbie (Darrell) Walker, and special friends  Regina, Adam, Brendan, and Adalyn Lewis.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 PM on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Washington Baptist Cemetery in Maysville.  Interment will follow. Expressions of sympathy suggested to Hospice of Hope.
