I am so very sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one in death is one of the hardest things that we ever have to deal with. In fact, Jehovah God never intended for humans to have to suffer and die. However, because of Adam and Eve's sin we have to contend with the harsh realities of imperfection and the terrible sting of death. Thankfully, though, Jehovah God gives us the only hope for a solution. At John 5:28,29 He promises that "the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." What a wonderful time that will be when we can have the opportunity to welcome our loved ones back to life again. I often reflect on this promise and I find comfort in it. I hope that you also find comfort in this as you go through this very difficult time.

Jim Rudd served with me for many years in the local Army Reserve Unit, 400th General Supply Company, Maysville, Ky.

Sgt Rudd was one of the most dedicated and compassionate soldiers I had in the unit. He
constantly had the members of his unit at
heart.

While serving in my unit, he showed a strong love for his family and religion.
