Ollie Fulton Obituary

MAYS LICK  On Friday, October 11, 2019, Ollie Thomas Fulton left this world to join his Lord and Savior.  Ollie was born April 10, 1948, the son of J.C. and Edith Orme Fulton.  A graduate of Mason County High School class of 1966, he retired after many years of service at DP&L.  He was a lifetime resident of Sardis, Kentucky and a faithful member of the Sardis United Methodist Church.  Ollie loved Jesus and all of God's creatures, except groundhogs, which he considered an abomination.

Ollie was a man of simple pleasures--A sloppy Big Boy cheeseburger, a great pair of Levis, rock and roll music, and UK basketball on the TV were enough.  A chat with an old friend was better than any fancy dinner, and the view over the rolling hills of his Kentucky farm would beat out any vacation.  Above all, Ollie's joy was found in the happiness of his family.  He cherished time spent with his daughter and his grandsons-- “Papaw's boys.”  When he wasn't talking to them, he was talking about them, and his favorite moments were always at their side.

In addition to his parents, Ollie was preceded in death by his brother Calvin Fulton of Maysville and his brother-in-law Donnie Price of Lexington.  He leaves his memory to be cherished by his beloved daughter Lori (Donnie) Brookbank, his two favorite people, his grandsons Ben Thomas and Luke Donald Brookbank, and best-buddy and family dog Tucker.  He also leaves behind his siblings, Bonnie Price of Lexington, Jeff  (Becky) Fulton of Lexington, Missy (Allen) Stitt of Mays' Lick, and Sister-in-Law Martha S. Fulton of Sardis, in addition six nieces and nephews, and the  mother of his daughter, Bonnie Fulton.

Services will be Wednesday, October 16th at 1PM at Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory in May's Lick with Dr. Mike Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery.  Pall bearers will be Jeff Fulton, Allen Stitt, Jamie Fulton, Charles Wayne (Chalk) Throckmorton, Eddie Dillon, and Randy Moore. Visitation will be from 11AM to 1PM the day of the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sardis United Methodist Church or the Mason County Animal Shelter.
