LEXINGTON…  Albert C. Thompson Jr., 72, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.  He was born on May 26, 1951, in Nicholas County, Kentucky to the late Albert Thompson Sr. and Cleola Thompson.

Albert grew up in Nicholas County and went into the Job Corp for several years.  He proudly served our country in the National Guard. Albert worked for the University of Kentucky, Big Yank, and Lexington Catholic High School.  He will be remembered for his kindness and his great ability to make people laugh.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Albert and Cleola Thompson; brother, Raymond "RS" Thompson; sister, Cheryl Brown; nephew, Tyron "TC" Edwards; great grandson, Nuri.

Albert leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Patricia Fox Thompson; daughters, Cleo (Keith) Coleman, Christi Fox-Thompson; sister, Yvonne Edwards, Beverly Jones, Ardella Johnson; brothers, Gerald Thompson, Clifford Thompson; grandchildren, Tyrin, Akeyra, Aysia, Allyce, Bryinn, Jameya, Zyan, Caash, Dontae, Jasean, Jacinda, Teyana; great grandchildren, Zykiyah, Drake, Choiz (on the way); many nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Albert's life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Martin Luther King Shelter in Winburn, 1625 McCullough Drive, Lexington, KY 40511.  To leave an online condolence for the family, please visit www.palmerfuneralhome.net.
