Obituary

MAYSVILLE  Aletha Goodpaster Hitt, 78, of Maysville died Wednesday April 23,2014 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville.
She was born on May 30, 1935 in Bath County daughter of the late Scott and Lillian Johnson Goodpaster.
Mrs. Hitt was a member of the Washington United Methodist Church and a member of the Mason County Homemakers for more than 50 years.  She held every office including president at the local and county levels.  She loved playing cards and spending time with her family.  She enjoyed golf and watching UK basketball.
She was the widow of the late William D. "Billy" Hitt who died on Feb. 15, 2004.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Donnie) Christy, Karen (Daryl) Ashcraft and Donna Snedegar all of Maysville.  Also five grandchildren, Amanda Ashcraft of Maysville, Tara Tolliver of Lexington, Kyle (Jill) Christy of Charleston, SC, Tyler Christy of Lexington and Chad Snedegar of Mt. Sterling and four great-grandchildren, Bradley and Ashley Taylor, Connor Tolliver and Landon Frederick.  Other survivors include a brother, John Goodpaster of Morgantown, IN and sister-in-laws, Mary Leslie Boger of Lexington, Jo Ann Berry of Mt. Olivet and Betty Chain of Maysville.  Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also will mourn her passing.
Services will be conducted at 4 P.M. Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Washington United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery.  Visitation 2-4 P.M. Sunday at the church.  Memorials suggested to Hospice of Hope or Washington United Methodist Church.  Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick is serving the family.  Online Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
