Anne Case Chumbler, 87, of May's Lick passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Maysville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on November 16, 1927 in Murphysville, Kentucky to the late Anna Faul & John Edward "Crutch" Case. Mrs. Chumbler was a 1945 Graduate of the May's Lick High School. She retired as Group Manager from Bell South in 1982 with 30 years of service, and later managed the gift shop at Meadowview Regional Medical Center for 6 years.
A devout Christian, Anne has been a member of the May's Lick Baptist Church since 1952. Along with being very involved with her beloved church and family, she also found time to be a valued member of the Telephone Pioneers, May's Lick Homemakers, and as a greeter for the Red Cross Blood Mobile.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Chumbler, Jr. whose death occurred January 9, 2011, four sisters, Garnett Nathan, Marie Bostian, Roberta Butler and Carol Rushmeyer, and her step grandson, Willie Gilligan.
She is survived by her children, Carol Anne (John) Walker of Maysville, Fred Chumbler III (Jeanne) of Lawrenceburg, KY, and Jennifer Lynn (Pat) Gilligan of Maysville, her grandchildren, Rebecca Walker (Michael) Palmer of Maysville, Allison Walker (Buddy) Biggs of Maysville, Brock Patrick Gilligan of Maysville, her step grandchildren, Mikaela Palmer, Jeston Biggs and Tye Gilligan, her sister, Jane Case Poe of May's Lick, and great grandchildren Jackson Walker Jones, Jonathan Chumbler Jones, and Nicholas Case Biggs.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 AM on Thursday, October 22 at the May's Lick Baptist Church with the Rev. David C. Cheek & the Rev. Kevin Cornette officiating. Serving as Active Casket Bearers will be Ray Chumbler, III, John Poe, Richard Poe, Allen Rushmeyer, James Rushmeyer & Craig Stanfield. Serving as Honorary Bearers will be Ray Chumbler, Jr., Buddy & Mary Katherine Cropper, Larry Dillion, Johnny Doyle, Kevin Galloway, Donald Jefferson, Ronald & Angie Lawrence, Jerry Nash, and the retired telephone ladies. Interment will follow in the May's Lick Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 PM Wednesday at the Church.
