MAYSVILLE Ben Marshall Lowe, 94, of Maysville passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe.
Mr. Lowe was born in Murphysville on August 19, 1923 son of the late Judge Harry & Emma Lillian Jones Lowe. He was a retired Building and Grounds Supervisor of the Maysville Community & Technical College since 1968 and owner & operator of several rental properties in Washington. Ben was very active in the community and was a charter member of Washington Lions Club and a member of Washington United Methodist Church. He was an U.S. Army Veteran serving in WW II in the European Theatre where he received three Bronze Service Stars and a Purple Heart.
Survivors include five daughters, Julia Brooks of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Brenda Willett of Venice, FL, Jeanie (Robert) Wallace of Flowery Branch, GA, Connie (Dean) Toller of Maysville, Cathy (Jim) Hart of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Rob Maher, Bryan Maher, Jarod Rosenthal, Andrea (Danny) Hitt, Leah Wallace, Olivia Toller, Callie (Aaron) Kitchen, Benjamin Hart and Harrison Hart,; two great grandchildren, Amanda Maher and Colton Maher. He was preceded in death by his wife Connie Thatcher Lowe on November 28, 2016; two sisters, Louise Phillips and Lilliam Belle King; two brothers, Harvey "Hobb" Lowe and Glen "Mink" Lowe.
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Washington United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Beck officiating. Burial to follow in the Washington Baptist Cemetery with military rites conducted by Simon Kenton Post #2734 VFW. Visitation will be held from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. Wednesday at the church. Memorials suggested to Washington UMC Building Fund or Hospice of Hope. Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory of May's Lick is serving the family. Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
