MAY'S LICK  Betty Ormes Shepherd, 87, of May's Lick passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at Robertson County Health Care Facility in Mt. Olivet.
She was the widow of Paul Shepherd whose death occurred on August 4, 2005 and a member of Forman's Chapel United Methodist Church.  She was a former Foster Grandparent at  Straub Elementary.
Mrs. Shepherd was born in Maysville on October 29, 1924 daughter of the late Sidney & Ida Moore Ormes.
Survivors include 2 sons, Gary Shepherd and Bobby (Wanetta) Shepherd of May's Lick.  2 grandchildren, Darren (Mary Beth) Shepherd of May's Lick and Chasity Jones Given of Lexington.  5 great grandchildren, Madalyn Mele, Tanner Reese & Caleigh Suzanne Given;  Baylee Grace & Gavin Slade Shepherd.  A special friend Janice Shepherd and 3 brothers, Billy (Judy) Ormes of Tampa, FL, Jerry (Sharon) Ormes of Maysville and Jackie (Sharon) Ormes of Mt. Orab, OH.  A sister, Jean (Sammy) Vice of Aberdeen, OH.  She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Sidney Ormes, Jr., Bobby Ormes and Freddy Ormes and a grand-son-in-law Jeremy Jones.
Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick with Dr. Michael Rice officiating.  Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery.  Visitation 6-8 P.M.
