Charles R. "Bobby" Miller, Jr., 65, of May's Lick passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 9, 2014. He was a retired employee of Emerson Power Transmission and Fast Lane convenient store in Maysville.
Bobby was born in Maysville on October 7, 1948 son of the late Charles Robert & Helen Green Miller. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of May's Lick Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working, golfing and was an avid UK basketball fan.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Janet Mason Miller. A daughter, Stephenie Gardner of Maysville and a son Charles R. "Robby" Miller III and his wife Amy of Flemingsburg; five grandchildren, Bryce, Gavin, Dara, Chloe and Carter; two sisters, Ann Simms of Orangeburg and Janie (Kenny) Clos of Ripley and a family friend, Michael Stovall. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank Lee Miller; a brother-in-law Mark Simms.
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at May's Lick Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Cornett and Rev. Earl Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the May's Lick Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Simon Kenton Post #2734 VFW. Visitation Noon until 1 P.M. Tuesday at the church.
