MAY'S LICK   Charles Russell Rice, Sr, 66, former resident of Walton Pike, Dover, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at UK Hospital in Lexington.  He was a retired employee of DP &L and a veteran of the U.S. Army and the National Guard.
Mr. Rice was born in Mason County on July 5, 1943 son of the late Robert Emmitt & Anna Johnson Rice.  He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Broadway Christian Church in Germantown.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years Anna Burns Rice.  1 son, Charles (Christina) Rice, Jr. of May's Lick; 1 special granddaughter,  Leanna Rice.  3 brothers, Robert (Mary) Rice of Sharon, PA; Ronald (Norlene) Rice of Maysville; Richard ( Suk ja)  Rice, Lexington.  3 sisters, Brenda Williams of Dover, Linda Rice of Maryland and Rhonda Rice of Germany.  2 uncles, William & Thomas Johnson and numerous nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister Anita Kaye Rice.  He will be deeply missed by everyone.
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Monday, May 17, 2010  at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick with Rev. Frank Burns officiating.  Interment will follow in the May's Lick Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Simon Kenton Post #2734 VFW.  Visitation 6-8 P.M.
