MAYSVILLE Charles T. "Charlie" Sweet, 82, of Maysville died Friday, May 25, 2012 at his home. He was a retired truck driver for several area trucking companies and a farmer.
Mr. Sweet was born in Mason County on January 22, 1930 son of the late Jack & Christine Hotze Sweet. He was a member of Highland Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Mattie F. Sweet. 5 sons, Charles Edward (Marilyn) Sweet of Fleming Co., James Roger (Carlotta) Sweet of Nicholas, Co., Steve Dale (Kathy) Sweet and Kevin Gene (Debbie) Sweet of May's Lick, Michael (Brenda Fultz) Mahaffey of Maysville; 1 daughter, Kimberly Frances Mahaffey of Maysville. 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife Patsy Ruth Mitchell in 1974 and 4 brothers, Ted, John, Winnie and Herman Sweet,; 2 sisters, Florence Harrison and Edna Cropper.
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Highland Christian Church by Rev. Ben Stroup. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Troy & Randy White, Duggie Adamson, Calvin Haughaboo, Danny Appelman, Chris Kuhns, John Hunt and Andy Sweet. Honorary Pallbearers, Don Boone, Sherman Saunders, Bob, Danny and Dale Appelman. Visitation 5-8 P.M. Monday at the church. Palmer Funeral Home of May's Lick is caring for arrangements.
