MAY'S LICK Curtis Ray Mitchell, 90, of May's Lick passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012 surrounded by family at Meadowview Regional Medical Center. He was a retired farmer and plumber and electrician. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WW II.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Fleming County on February 18, 1922 son of the late William & Lettie Jolly Mitchell. He was a member of May's Lick Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Oleta C. Fryman Mitchell. 4 children, Donnie Ray (Diana) Mitchell of May's Lick, Thomas Elwood (Anita) Mitchell of Maysville, Barbara (Dale) Mitchell of Lexington and Gary Wayne (Joyce) Mitchell of Martin, KY. 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great- great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Catherine Denton of Carlisle, Frances Purcell of Maysville and Betty Mitchell of Paris. He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Mitchell; 4 brothers, Elgin, Edward, Arlie and Richard Mitchell; and a sister Virginia Cartmill.
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick with Bro. Tim Lorenz, Bro. Gary Wayne Mitchell and Bro. Phillip Cook officiating, Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
