FLEMINGSBURG  Pastor Earl Clay Sanders, 81, of Flemingsburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 21, 2012.  Earl Clay founded and pastored two churches for 34 years; Mt. Carmel Baptist Temple and Grace Baptist Church.  After his retirement at Grace Baptist Church,  he pastored at churches within the community when needed. He was also retired from Emerson Power Transmission and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Sanders was born in Bourbon County on January 27, 1931 son of the late Sterling & Elva West Sanders.
Survivors include his wife of   57 years, Helen Turner Sanders;  2 sons, Alan (Nancy) Sanders and Lee (Janet) Sanders both of Fleming Co.  4 grandchildren, Brandon Sanders, Kristian Sanders Emmons, Amanda Sanders and Austin Sanders; one great grandchild, Wyatt Brooks Emmons and a sister Nellie Mae Righter of York, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Jake Sanders, John Sanders and Henry Sanders and a sister Ruby Cannon.
Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Grace Baptist Church in Lewisburg.  Pastor Charles Walton and Pastor Larry Manning officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wedonia Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers will be Brandon Sanders, Austin Sanders, Clay Cannon, Chris Cannon, Allen Hester and Tony Dugan.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Dick Righter, Jim Sanders,  Mike Jones, Mike Earlywine and  Duggie Adamson. Visitation 11 A.M. until 2 P.M. Thursday  at the church.
