Obituary

Ella Risner, 87, of Maysville transcended Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon.  She was a homemaker and the wife of Sheldon Risner , the couple had been married for 58 joyful years.
She was born in Chattaroy, West Virginia on April 26, 1927 daughter of the late James Philip & Brookie Harris Carter. Jesse Stuart, children's book author was her principal in school and promoted her from the seventh to the ninth grade as he could see she was a gifted student.  She was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors.
Survivors other than her husband are three children, Genevia Daphine Risner, Robert Sheldon Risner and Deborah Kay Risner-Burns;  four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She shared a special bond with and will be greatly missed by her granddaughters Amelia Laurel Risner and Izabellah Artemisia Burns and her great-granddaughter Aubree Grace Clark.  She is also survived by a brother, Dale Carter and two sisters, Mary Frances Williams and Genevia Carter.
Services will be conducted at Noon on Friday June 13, 2014 at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick.  Burial will follow in the Wedonia Cemetery.  Visitation  6-8 P.M.Thursday at the funeral home.  Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
