Elmer Doyle, 93, a prominent farmer-landowner and longtime resident of the Forman's Chapel Road, May's Lick passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Robertson County Health Care Facility in Mt. Olivet.
Mr. Doyle was born in Mason County on December 29, 1921 son of the late Ernie and Annabelle Smith Doyle.
Survivors include five children, Jeanine (Wayne) Gifford of Sardis, Johnny Doyle and Larry (Debbie) Doyle of May's Lick, Darlene Courtney of Murphysville and Phillip (Sharon) Doyle of May's Lick. 11 grandchildren, Mark, Chris and Shawn Gifford, Lisa McConnell, Christal Barbour, Tonya Lee, Kaylee Doyle, Brandi Mauricio, Johnathan Wise ,Phillip Doyle II and Justin Doyle. Also surviving are 20 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Edna Mae Dryden Doyle on December 31, 2007 and his parents and 4 brothers, Orville, Burgess, Lacy and Jack Doyle; 5 sisters, Martha Myers, Phoebe Workman, Mattie Fowler,
Mary Frances Ross and Louise Prather; 3 grandchildren; Larry T. Doyle II, Ginger Doyle and Troy Doyle.
Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at May's Lick Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Wayne, Mark, Chris, and Shawn Gifford, Phillip Doyle II, Justin Doyle and Johnathan Wise. Honorary pallbearers will be Don and Clint Doyle, Ronnie McConnell, Fred Persinger and Thomas Mitchell. Visitation will be held from 11 A.M. until the hour of the service Saturday at the church. Memorials suggested to Forman's Chapel United Methodist Church or Robertson County Health Care Facility. Palmer Funeral Home of May's Lick is serving the family.
