MAY'S LICK   Eugene  E. Cooper, 82, of Sardis and formerly of Mt. Olivet passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at his residence.  He served as Robertson County Jailer for 17 years and was a former employee of Blue Licks State Park and a farmer and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Cooper was born in Mason County on May 13, 1927 son of the late Arthur & Arlie Jefferson Cooper.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Joyce White Cooper.  3 sons, Steven Cooper  and Troy Cooper of Sardis, Michael Cooper of Seattle, Washington .  1 granddaughter, Macy Cooper and several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Hank Cooper, Clemen Cooper, Arthur Cooper, Jr. and Gordon Cooper.  4 sisters, Alma Bays, Gertrude Blake, Anna Mary Adkins and Louise Riickert.
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick with Rev. Raymond Snider officiating.  Interment will follow in the Shannon Cemetery with military graveside rites by Simon Kenton Post #2734 VFW.  Visitation 11 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.  Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
