Eugene "Gene" Jones, 94, of Maysville passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg.  Mr. Jones was born in Fleming County on May 5, 1930, son of the late Melvin & Anna Dugan Jones.  He was a retired farmer although, he remained active in all farming affairs and was a former employee of Farmers Stockyards. Gene was a member of Antioch Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Leet Jones; a son Danny Jones; and a daughter-in-law Sherri Prather Jones; and a brother Irvin Jones and a sister Ruby Gilpin.  Survivors include a son Michael "Mike" (Brenda) Jones; two grandchildren, Matt (Jill) Jones and Alison Hazelrigg; three great grandchildren, Macie Lynn Hazelrigg, Aubrey Jones and Brady Jones; two sisters, Ruth Ann Brown, and Mildred Downing and a special family friend Leslie Gifford.

Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory in May's Lick.  Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery at Mt. Tabor in Fleming County. Active Pallbearers will be Mike Doyle, Greg Hazelrigg, Jack Anderson, Keith Reeder, Matt Jones, and David Tincher. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Denham, Sonny Utterback, Donnie Tumey, Kenny Applegate, Scott Manning, Jerry Lowe and Ronnie Lowe.  Visitation will be held from 11 A.M Wednesday till time of the service.  In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to Antioch Church of Christ, C/O Linda Applegate 7054 Mt.
