MAY'S LICK  Eugene Orme, 90, of Maysville passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Maysville Nursing & Rehab Facility.  His second wife, Doris E. Orme died May 16, 1985.  He was a former employee of A.H. Dillon Farm Machinery in Sardis during the summer months and a weigh man at Home & Standard Tobacco Warehouses in the winter months.  He later was employed by Browning  Manufacturing  and retired in June of 1982.
Mr. Orme was born in Mt. Olivet on May 2, 1920 son of the late Slater Harrison & Zelpha Mae Galbraith Orme.  He was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army  serving in Germany during WWII as a Surgical Technician.
Surviviors include his son Gerald E. (Betty) Orme of Maysville .  2 grandsons, David (Cindy) Orme of Maysville and Chris (Stephanie) Orme of Wilder, KY.  3 great- grand sons, 1 great-grand daughter and 3 great-great grand sons. 2 nieces, Gwyn (Larry) Mercer of Orlando,FL and Sue (Coleman) Davis of Plant City, FL and several great nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Bentley Orme, Evan "Jerry" Orme and Charles N. Orme.
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick with Rev. Phil Bradley officiating.   Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Military Rites by Simon Kenton Post #2734 VFW.  Visitation 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials suggested to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive Maysville,  KY  41056 .Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
