Gladys "Butch" Tolle Green, 84, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Health Care in Edgewood, KY.  She was born on June 20, 1940, to the late George and Lida Howard Tolle and was the widow of.Grover James "Jimmy" Green.

Gladys was a proud graduate of May's Lick High School class of 1959. She was employed at Wald's LLC for 42 years before retiring. She enjoyed the yearly reunions with her Wald's coworkers and friends and never missed her high school reunions.  Gladys would call every class member each year to remind them it was reunion time.  If a class member passed away, she would notify the class of their passing.  She took great pride in her work for the reunions and her fellow classmates.  Gladys was a member of the Mason County Homemakers for 20 years, member of R.S.V.P., member of the Shannon Global Methodist Church, and a member of the Euchre Club.

In 2014, she was awarded the commission of the Kentucky Colonel, the highest title of honor bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky for an individual's noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to our community, state, and nation.  Gladys's greatest accomplishment and her pride and joy was her only son, Gregory James Green.   He was her whole life and never hesitated to express to anyone how proud she was of him.

Besides her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by all of her siblings, brothers William Tolle and Darrell Tolle; her sisters, Katherine Dryden, Katie Richardson, Margaret Dotson, Mildred Lopes, Mattie Dotson, and Mabel Tolle.

Those left here to carry on her loving legacy are her son, Gregory "Greg" Green; sister in laws, Lydia Tolle and Judy Green; many nieces, nephews, cousins and best friends who will miss her dearly.

A funeral service will be held to honor the great life of Mrs..Green on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Shannon Global Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. with Pastors Bill Henry and Larry Manning officiating.  Gladys will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Shannon Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday afternoon, November 7, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
