MAYSVILLE Harry Richard Jones, 80, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Maysville Nursing & Rehab. He was affectionately known in Maysville as "Harry", "Richard", "Big John", " Big Harry" , "Big Rich" and "Mr. Harry". He was born in Maysville on April 14, 1939 son of the late Janet Davis Pleasant Chaney and Alaska Jones. He was a retired 39- year employee of Browning Manufacturing and a member of Scott United Methodist Church. He attended John G. Fee High School and Maysville High School.
Survivors include his wife Linda Breckenridge Jones and a step son Aaron Todd Breckenridge and son Dante Richard Nelson; five grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy P .Commodore; special nieces, Teryl Thomas, and Donna (Kenneth) Williams; special nephews, James (J.C.) Commodore, Jr., Richard and Rodney Commodore; In-laws, Charles Breckenridge, Larry (Renee) Breckenridge, Virginia (Richard) Kirk, James Breckenridge, Wanda Humphrey, Mattie(James) Steward and Wilma (Ed) Commodore. Special family friends, Oliver "Wimp" , Bobby Lane, Gene Lane and Connie Brookins, Teegan & Dravin Routt, Tatum Faulkner, Isaac Marshall and Keshaum Thomas. Harry loved golf and missed his high school graduation to go play in a golf tournament. He loved all sports especially the UK Wildcats. He had a passion for playing at Kenton Station Golf Course with his friends. He enjoyed horse racing and to joke with a witty personality. His smile would warm any room and loved to talk about the good "ole" days. He was an original "Devine One". He lived his life to the fullest and knew his time was coming to an end. He was surrounded by his wife and family and told them he loved them. He loved the Lord and went to his heavenly home.
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Scott United Methodist Church in Maysville with Pastor Claude Commodore officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. at the church on Saturday. Palmer Funeral Home and Crematory of May's Lick is serving the family. Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
