HARVEY APPLEGATE, 79, of Germantown passed away Friday, March 26, 2010 at his residence. He was a retired 38 year employee of the Carnation Condensory in Maysville and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a native of Lewis County and was born on March 28, 1930 son of the late Harvey Alexander & Hattie L. Mason Applegate. He was a member of Chatham Christian Church where he served as a deacon and was a 55 year member of Simon Kenton Post #2734 VFW in Maysville. Surviving include his wife of 38 Years Doris Silvey Applegate and 2 sons, Harvey William (Tracey) Applegate of Carrollton, KY and William Andres Byrne of Germantown. 2 daughters, Athlene "Sis" (Mike) Garrison of Germantown and Tammy (Troy) White of May's Lick. 3 grandchildren, Eric Poe, Holly Byrne, Kaysha Garrison. 3 brothers, Charles Applegate of Maysville and Donald & Melvin Applegate of Trinity. 3 sisters Hazel Curtis of OH, Ruthie Hatfield of Aberdeen and Sheryl Truesdale of Maysville. 3 brothers and 3 sister preceded him in death.
Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday, March 28th at Chatham Christian Church in Bracken County with Bro. Jackie McElfresh officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Gardens in Mason County with Military Graveside Services conducted by Simon Kenton Post #2734 VFW. Visitation 4-8 P.M. Saturday, March 27th at the church.
