Henrietta Gilmore Yates, 96, of Maysville and most recently a resident of Kenton Pointe Assisted Living passed away on Saturday May 23, 2015 at the Maysville Nursing & Rehab Facility.  She was the widow of Robert S. "Jack" Yates.
Mrs. Yates was born in Mason County on August 25, 1918 daughter of the late James H. Gilmore, Sr. and Gladys Owens Gilmore.  She was the oldest member of the Bethel Baptist Church and was a former church historian, last surviving member of the Modern Matrons social club.  She was an Avon representative, S.E.A. instructor, Cub Scott Den Mother of Troop #222 & RSVP volunteer for many years.  Henrietta was a member of the Mason County Homemakers and the Tri County Democratic Women's Club.  She loved to crochet and do word search and jigsaw puzzles. She was an avid basketball fan especially UK Wildcats.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter Carol Y. Bennett (Jackson Sr.) five grandchildren Valerie Bennett-Jones (Isaac) Tony Bennett, David K. Bennett (Brenda) Kirby Bennett (Lisa) & Jackson Bennett Jr. (Paula) and a sister-in-law Mary Belle Gilmore and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives  & special friends Violet Jackson and Elizabeth Tibbs.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and a sister Lillian Mildred Harper; three brothers, James Gilmore, Jr., John Bruce Gilmore Sr. and Carlos Gilmore; and a sister-in-law Joan (Yates) Chenault.
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick with Rev. Randy Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in the May's Lick Cemetery.  The visitation will be held from 11 A.M. until the hour of the service.  Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
