James M. Howard, 85, of Louisville and formerly of Maysville passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville.  Jim was born in Lebanon, Kentucky on June 24, 1938 son of the late Clarence Byrge & Thelma Elizabeth Harvey Howard.  He was a retired high school teacher in Mt. Olivet and Augusta School Systems as well as a secondary teacher in a prison in Indiana.  He was a member of Washington Central Church.

Survivors include two sons, James B. Howard of Louisville, and Phillip R. Howard of Los Angeles, CA; a daughter Tracy (Michael) Passafiume of Louisville; three grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Marguerite Swartz Howard; and a brother Harvey Howard and a sister-in-law Emmalene Howard.

Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory in May's Lick with Dr. Mike Rice officiating.  Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
