"Mike" Dotson
March 31, 1951 – February 24, 2025
James Michael "Mike" Dotson, 73, of Robertson County passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 31, 1951, in Mason County to the late Ruben and Margaret Tolle Dotson.
Mike grew up in Mason and Roberston counties and was a graduate of Deming High School. He married his wife and best friend, Susan (Logan) Dotson in 1971. Mike was a fire marshal for the state of Kentucky for many years before retiring. He was member at Forman's Chapel United Methodist Church as well as a meticulous farmer with a great sense of organization. He traveled to many states over the years, bird hunting with good friends. Mike enjoyed tinkering with antique tractors and classic cars. He loved his family fiercely and will be remembered for his compassionate heart and quick-witted sense of humor.
Carrying on his legacy are his loving wife, Susan Dotson; adored son and daughter in law, Kevin and Melissa Dotson; grandson, Eli Michael Dotson; sister, Sharon (Dwaine) Miller; niece, Lora Unthank, nephew, Timothy Miller, many cousins and great friends who will miss him beyond measure.
Preceding Mike in death are his parents, Ruben and Margaret Dotson.
Services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory at 1 PM, with Dr. Mike Rice officiating. Active Pallbearers will be Aaron Montgomery, Adam Logan, Eli Dotson, Frank Gifford, Jeff Cos, Ron Gallagher, R.J. Poe. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dwaine Miller, Bob Leet, Charles Cropper, John Cleaver, Bobby Shepherd, Phillip Adamson, Timmy Jolly, John Thomas and Oney Gifford, Jr. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the hour of service. Mike will be gently laid to rest in the Shannon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made In Mike's honor to the Shannon Cemetery, C/O Dick Clary 4065 KY 596 May's Lick, KY 41055.
