It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and loved one, James Michael “Mike” Perraut, 56, of Maysville, passed away Monday, August 24, 2026, at his home.

Mike was born on June 23, 1970, in Maysville, son of Jim Perraut and Wanda Lightner Perraut of Aberdeen, OH. He was a 1988 graduate of Mason County High School and later graduated with an associate degree from Maysville Community College.

Mike was a deeply devoted Catholic whose faith was at the center of his life. He faithfully attended Mass, lived according to the teachings of the Catholic Church and remained steadfast in his beliefs throughout his life.

Mike proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps. He took tremendous pride in being a Marine and Carried the strength, discipline, courage, and fighting spirit of the Corps with him throughout his life. He was a lifelong University of Kentucky fan.

Mike is survived by his only daughter, Kristen Michelle Perraut, whom he loved deeply and cherished beyond measure; Kristen’s mother Tina Whiteman Collins and husband Jeff; his brother Mark Perraut and wife Raejean; nephews Christopher, Gavin and Dillon; nieces Hailey and Chloe; along with a host of beloved aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Robert and Bertha Perraut and Henry and Pearl Vaughn Lightner, all of whom he loved dearly. Mike shared an extraordinary bond with his grandmother, Bertha, who was his favorite person in the whole world and held an irreplaceable place in his heart. He was also preceded in death by his special uncle, William “Bill” Perraut, along with a host of beloved uncles

Mike will be remembered for his strength, his unwavering faith, his love of family, his pride in serving his country, the countless memories he leaves behind, and his deep love for his three beloved dogs,

Mass of Christian burial will begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church

Mike will be laid to rest in St. Patrick Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, at Palmer Funeral Home located at 5043 Main St. May’s Lick KY, 41055.

In place of flowers a donation may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
