MAY'S LICK  Mrs. Jean Swart Hord, 83, of Sardis passed away Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Robertson County Health Care Facility in Mt. Olivet after a brief illness.
Mrs. Hord  was born in Robertson County on August 9, 1927 the youngest of eight children of the late Walter & Eva Jane Mullikin Swart.  She was the widow of Thornton T. "Shavey" Hord whose death occurred on July 7, 2002.  She was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church and the UMW.
Survivors include 2 sons, Michael (Tracey Guinn) Hord of Mason Co. and Jeffrey (Denise) Hord of Cynthiana.  1 daughter Cathy Hord of Lexington.  Several nieces & nephews also survive.  Preceding her in death other than her husband was an infant son Gregory Kent Hord and 4 brothers Emmitt Swart, Everett Swart, Roger Swart and Donald Swart.  3 sisters, Edith Curtis, Florence Stitt and Iona Browning.
Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday,September 26, 2010 at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick.  Dr. Michael Rice & Dr. E. Ray Throckmorton officiating.   Interment will follow in the Shannon Cemetery.  Visitation Noon until time of the service on Sunday.  Memorials suggested to Sardis United Methodist Church.  Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
