GERMANTOWN   Joe White, 80, of Germantown, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 at his residence.  He was a retired owner of White's Heating & Cooling and a former driver- salesman for Parker Beverage Co. and several other beverage companies.
Mr. White was born in Mt. Olivet on August 28, 1930 son of the late Herbert "Hook" and Anna Merrill White.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of Simon Kenton Post #2734 VFW.  He was a member of the DAV and a Kentucky Colonel.  His wife Evalena Merrill White died on June 28, 2009.
Survivors include 3 sons, Ricky (Evelyn) White of Augusta; Randy (Eva) White of Germantown; Troy (Tammy) White of May's Lick.  3 grandchildren, Stephanie White and Lisa (Jeremy) Nunnallee both of Temple, TX and Bryan (Traci) White of Germantown.  1 great grandchild, Taylor White of Germantown.  A cousin Jane Merrill of Maysville and several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Gene White, Ron White, Ben White, Stanley White, Don White and Herbert White, Jr.  4 sisters, Bessie Hesler, Florence Dixon, Florida Moore and Jane White.
Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, April 11, 2011 at Chatham Christian Church in Bracken County with Rev. Jackie McElfresh officiating.  Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Germantown with Military Rites conducted by Simon Kenton Post #2734 VFW.  Visitation  4-7 P.M.
