IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kamala
Srinivasan
October 28, 1938 – November 12, 2024
Kamala Srinivasan passed away November 12, 2024, peacefully at home with her family by her side.
Mrs. Srinivasan was born Jembagam Chary in Tiruchi, India on October 26, 1938. She was the daughter of late Dewan Bahadur Sundarachary and Kanakambujam Chary.
Her faith and devotion were foremost, and were most evidently manifest as her enduring dedication to her family. Her definition of family included her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many other friends who were also so fortunate to call her Amma or Ammama. She was blessed with wonderful helpers whom she thought of as her family too. She loved to teach, learn, travel, cook, and laugh, and her expressions of affection usually included some combination thereof. She was brilliantly smart and had an exceptional sense of humor. She was fond of tech, and was in fact an early adopter of Linux, which she ran via the now defunct LILO boot loader in the early 2000s. She was resolute in her faith, which translated to unwavering determination accompanied by tremendous compassion and acceptance. She welcomed all to her home with open arms, and especially treasured those who loved her food.
Ammama is survived by two sons, Raghuraman Srinivasan (Terri) of Maysville, Vasu Iyengar (Vijayalakshmi) of Allentown, NJ; and a daughter, Rema Kumar (S R Kumar) of Lilburn, GA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Rohit Kumar, Arjun Kumar (Megha), Arvind Vasudevan, Madhusudhan Vasudevan, Amrita Iyengar (Margaret), Gita Srinivasan, Michael Srinivasan, and Ganesh Srinivasan; four precious great grandchildren: Mathrika and Aanya (Arjun/Megha), Arabella and Axton (Amrita/Margaret); and three brothers: Krishnan, Narasimhan, Rajagopolan.
Amma is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Srinivasan Iyengar, her parents, as well brothers Sampath, Ramaswamy, Raghavan and sisters Kalyani and Janaki.
Private services were held. Palmer Funeral Home and Crematory of May's Lick served the family. Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net.
