IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Karen Wesley
(Flynn) Fulton
March 2, 1942 – August 5, 2025
Karen Wesley (Flynn) Fulton, 83, passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. She was born on March 2, 1942, to the late Ralph Wesley and Orena Gum Flynn in Irvine, Kentucky.
Karen graduated from Irvine High School in 1960 and then earned a bachelor's degree in education from Eastern Kentucky University in 1964. Years later she obtained her master's in music and art education from Morehead State University. She met the love of her life as a sophomore at EKU; Scotty Fulton and they married in June of 1965. They started building a life together and had two wonderful daughters, Chiara and Linda. When not at home caring for her family, Karen participated in ORVAG, Mason County Homemakers, and Midwest Tool Collectors. She was also a member of May's Lick Christian Church, where she served as organist for many years.
Karen retired from Mason County Schools after 22 years of teaching. She taught for the Mason County Board of Education, Maysville Board of Education, Ohio Valley Board of Education, and the Lewis County Board of Education. Karen was dedicated to inspiring children to learn and be creative. She valued her family deeply and so appreciated the time she spent with them (especially her grandsons and great grand daughter). Karen will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Ralph, and Orena Flynn and one brother, Charles D'Rhonda (Barbara Ann) Flynn.
Those left here to carry on her loving legacy are her husband of 60 years, Scotty Fulton; daughters, Chiara Harris of Georgetown, KY, Linda Mckee of Maysville, Ky; grandsons, Kyle (Katie) Williams, Jameson Harris; great granddaughter, Inara Williams; her adopted daughter/sitter, Shari Mason; caregiver, Sadonna Hawkins, several nieces, extended family and a host of dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Karen's name to the May's Lick Christian Church 5083 Main St., May's Lick, KY 41055, ORVAG 2111 Old Main St, Maysville, KY 41056, or the Mason County Homemakers.
