MAYS LICK Kathleen Estill Hilterbrand, 89, of the Nepton Rd. , passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Maysville Nursing & Rehab Facility. She was the widow of Everett Hilterbrand. She and her late husband had been married 37 years at the time of his death on August 24, 2003. She was a retired book-keeper at the Bank of May's Lick.
Mrs. Hilterbrand was born in Mason County on December 31, 1921 daughter of the late William Elbert & Margaret Flanagan Estill. She was a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima Church and the Altar Society. An Active member of the Ohio Valley Garden Club and was an avid gardener and rose enthusiast. She and her late husband were generous with their roses at several community and church events. She was well known for her cooking and hospitality and was a great homemaker and farm wife.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Cropper of Louisville, 2 brothers, Dr. George E. (Bonnie) Estill of Maysville, Andrew Estill of May's Lick. Several nieces & nephews, Dr. Margaret (Sam) Campisano, Pat Cropper, Helen (Jerry) Prather, Karen (Doug) Scales, Andy (Patti) Cropper all of Louisville. Barb (Chuck) Brown of Cincinnati, Ret. Col. Leo (Ingrid) Cropper, DVM of San Antonio, TX, Anne (Bill) Hoskins of Versailles, Dr's. George (Candy) Estill of Corydon, IN, Bill Estill of Vermont, Susan (James) Plucinsky of Colorado, Mary Margaret (Alan) Harrison of Lexington, John (Sandi) Estill of May's Lick, Debbie Estill of May's Lick, Kristi (Dave) Hall of Noblesville, IN Jim (Jo) Estill of Minerva and Kathy (Walt) Esselman of Michigan. Several great nieces & nephews and a special cousin Jane Estill of Maysville. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, William E. Estill , Jr. who died in combat in France during WW II and John Thomas "Jack" Estill, and cousins George Estill, Julia Helmer, Margaret Diehl.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Monday, October 17, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in May's Lick with Rev. Verne F. Hogan officiating. Interment will follow in the May's Lick Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be nephews and close family friends; Tony, Terry and Danny Hunt. Visitation will be held 5-7 P.M.
