Katie Leandra Hammond,  27, of Maysville went to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday February 8, 2017.  She was born in Lexington on January 31, 1990 daughter of   Rev. Paul B. & Joyce Cummins Hammond of May's Lick.  Katie was a graduate of Grant County High School and Asbury University where she obtained her bachelor degree.  She was a member of Benson United Methodist Church in Harrison Co.  She was a manager at the Maysville Taco Bell.

Survivors besides her parents are a paternal grandmother, Ethel Hammond of Owenton; and god parents, Rick & Monica Mattox.

two uncles, Edward Cummins, Wayne (Yolanda)  Hammond; three aunts, Lydia (Gary) Smoot, Libby (Phil) Cook and Natalie (Donnie) Smith and several cousins also survive.  She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Albert Hammond Jr. and maternal grandparents, James Lang & Norma Louise Gillispie Cummins and a maternal great-grand mother Mabel Gillispie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Shannon United Methodist Church with Rev.  Ray Snider,   Rev. Owen Dolin  and Rev. Dan Frederick officiating.  Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. Friday, February 17th at the church and two hours prior to the service Saturday at the church.  Memorials suggested to Shannon or Bethel United Methodist Churches.  Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory of May's Lick is serving the family.  Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
