MAYSVILLE Mary Helen Poe Sanders, 86, of Maysville passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at Ohio Valley Manor in Ripley. She was the widow of William A. Sanders whose death occurred on June 1, 2010.
Mrs. Sanders was born in Mason County on November 28, 1926 daughter of the late Lawrence & Mildred Fulton Poe. She was a member of First Christian Church and was a kind, giving, and gentle soul to all that knew her.
Survivors include a son William A. Sanders, Jr. of Maysville. Two grandchildren, Lindsay (Clayton) Rhodes of Nashville, TN and Marshall H. Sanders of Washington, DC ; two great grandchildren, Sanders Petty Rhodes and Sterling Hayes Rhodes; three brothers, Lawrence Poe, Jr. of Maysville, Emmitt W. Poe of May's Lick and Ray Poe of Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and a brother Howard "Tade" Poe.
Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at First Christian Church in Maysville with Rev. Steve Lesher officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Marshall Sanders, Clay Rhodes, James Downing, Keith White, Cindy White and Kathy Egan. Honorary pallbearers will be James & Janice Rawlings, Horace and Kay Sweet, Frances Kirk, Betty Pitzer, Larry and Sandy Mullins, Cathy Webb and Cheri Sanders. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Memorials suggested to First Christian Church or Hospice of Hope. Palmer Funeral Home of May's Lick is serving the family.
