Mrs. Maureen Gordon Pfeffer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 71.
Mrs. Pfeffer was born on October 7, 1952, in Leister, England, the daughter of Mary and John Gordon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Bridget Ordway, and brother Patrick Gordon.
Maureen is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Chris Joseph Pfeffer. Maureen and Chris's love story began at St. Patrick High School, where they met and shared the beginnings of a journey that spanned over five decades. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, built on laughter, shared values, and unwavering support through life's joys and challenges. Other survivors include her son Scott (Lisa) Pfeffer, daughter Kelly (Murphy Gifford) Pfeffer and grandchildren Katie, Abby, and Joey Pfeffer.
Throughout her life, Moe cherished her role as a nurturing matriarch. She dedicated herself to caring for her loved ones, always offering gentle guidance and unconditional love. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, where she welcomed everyone with a smile and an open heart.
Maureen had a passion for artistry, which she pursued with enthusiasm and skill. She was well-known in Flemingsburg where her creative works found their way into the homes of many in the community.
In accordance with Mrs. Pfeffer's wishes, there will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at St. Charles Borromeo in Flemingsburg, with Rev. Phillip DeVous celebrating. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery, Maysville.
