Morgan A. "Sam" Scaggs, Jr., 81 of Maysville, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at his home.  He was born in Vanceburg on July 7, 1941 son of the late Morgan A. Scaggs, Sr. and Alice Ingraham Scaggs.  He had been employed at Browning Manufacturing, S&D Enterprises in Manchester, OH as a craftsman for over 30 years and finally for Lowe's of Maysville.  He was an U.S. Air Force Veteran for eight years.

Survivors include his daughters Joanne J. Scaggs and Cathy L. Scaggs both of Maysville; four grandchildren, Dylan M. Scaggs, Rylan D. Scaggs, Sara H. Scaggs and Jaylan A. Scaggs; three brothers, Jerry (Carolyn) Scaggs of Garrison, Bob (Maryjane) Scaggs of Flemingsburg, Roger (Marilyn) Scaggs of Vanceburg.   He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Jennifer Mary Whitehead Scaggs in 2019; and a sister Margaret A. Bivens.
