SARDIS   Nellie Burns Adamson, 68, of Mt. Olivet went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 22, 2016 in Sevierville, TN.   She was surrounded by her loving family.

Nellie was born on April 11, 1948, daughter of the late Lee and June Cracraft Burns.

She was a retired elementary school teacher in the Mason County School Systems. Mrs. Nellie continued to substitute teach in the Mason and Robertson County School Systems following retirement. She was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church.  There are not many people who have roamed this earth in such utter kindness, non-malevolence, and sheer southern grace as Mrs. Nellie Adamson; with her tough hands and a pretty grin, she will be missed by many.

Survivors include her husband, Philip J. Adamson; her loving children, a son, Michael G. Adamson of Mt. Olivet, Ky and a daughter Janelle L. Adamson of Hamilton, Oh; and a precious granddaughter Khloe M. Adamson; one brother Ronnie (Susie) Burns; a special nephew Cameron Six;  a sister-in-law Jan(Joey) Caldwell; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving family members of each generation.

She was preceded in death by her two sisters; Nancy Burns Gifford, Rhonda Burns Six, a mother and father in law Doris and Jesse Adamson, and a nephew Parker Six.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, July 24, 2016 at the Sardis United Methodist Church with Dr. Michael Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 5-9 P.M.
