Obituary

Pastor Johnny Nelson Adamson, 73, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, at his residence.

Born in Fleming County, Kentucky on November 23, 1952, his father was the late Ivan Adamson, and his mother was the late Ruth Linville Adamson.

Johnny was a retired Baptist minister, serving the Lord in that role for 45 years. He was faithful to his Lord and loved the people that in brought him in contact with, he never met a stranger who he didn’t share the gospel with. He loved to read his Bible and study any literature that would help him expand his understanding of the Gospel. Family was important to Johnny and he loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He was well known for his black cowboy hat and whistling a tune,

Johnny is survived his wife of 54 years Connie Adamson; his children, Tammy Akins and husband Kerry of Somerset, Michael Adamson and wife Patty of Garfield, and Jonathan Adamson of Lexington. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Adam Akins, Madi Adamson, Ben Adamson, Cora Adamson and Eli Adamson; and six of his siblings, Donald “Duggie” Adamson, Mary Harney, Toddy Dugan, Cheryl Tuel, Duane Adamson and Debbie Clark; along with many extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents Ivan and Ruth; Johnny was preceded in death by his siblings Betty Wagoner, Tubby Adamson and Carol Jean Rudy.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Palmer Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Bolin officiating.

Johnny will be laid to rest in Shannon Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Kerry Akins, Michael Adamson, Jonathan Adamson Roger White, Keith Lytle, Ben Adamson and Adam Akins.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, at Palmer Funeral Home located a 5043 Main St. May’s Lick, Kentucky 41055.
