Patricia Gail Faris, 78, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, surrounded by her family at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Pat was born on February 28, 1948, in Jenkins, Kentucky to the late Ray and Rudell (Tucker) Shortt.

Pat was an exceptional cook and loved to bake. She had an immense passion for decorating and crafting. Pat was an avid UK Wildcats basketball fan who rarely ever missed watching a game. Her family and grandchildren brought her the deepest joy. She treasured every moment they shared and valued the special memories they created together.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Rudell Shortt and her brother, Mike Shortt.

Left to carry on her loving legacy are her husband and best friend, Omar Faris; daughter, Lisa (Darren) Brown; son, Roger (Chum) Rowlett; grandchildren, Ethan (Taylor) Brown, Mason Brown, Axyl Rowlett; great grandchildren, Ryker Brown and Sylas Brown; one sister, Teresa (Chuck) Johnson; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends who will miss her deeply. Pat also leaves behind her four-legged companion, Max, who she loved dearly.

In keeping with Pat’s wishes, a celebration on life will be held at a later date and at the convenience of her family.
