MAY'S LICK Pauline Doyle Douglas, 88, longtime resident of Forman's Chapel Rd. May's Lick went to be with Her Lord & Saviour on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Maysville Nursing & Rehab Facility after a long illness. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother and a member of Forman's Chapel United Methodist Church and was active in the UMW.
Mrs. Douglas was born in Mason County on February 4, 1923 daughter of the late Burgess Taylor Doyle & Vaneda Dotson Doyle.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Joseph Cook "J.C." Douglas. The couple married in Sardis on February 21, 1948 by the late Rev. A.L. Moore. Also surviving is a son Marce Douglas of May's Lick. 4 daughters, LaVerne (Robert) Taylor of Fruitland Park, FL,; Anna Gayle (Gary Joe) Orme, Judy (Robert) Walton and Connie Douglas all of Maysville. 8 grandchildren, Julie Burton, Sandy Brown, Andrea Duncan, Joni Douglas, Cheri McCord, Jamie Taylor, Cassidy Connell, Nathan May. 12 great-grandchildren also survive as well as several nieces & nephews including special niece Linda Doyle Halleran. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Lawrence W. Doyle and Leo B. Doyle and her aunt and lifelong best friend Edna Dryden Doyle.
Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick. Interment will follow in the Shannon Cemetery. Visitation 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
