MAY'S LICK   Richard B. Williams, 81, of May's Lick passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his residence.  He was a retired employee of  the U.S. Bank and the Parker Tobacco Co.
Mr. Williams was born in Ewing on August 27, 1931 son of the late Leslie Warder & Juanita Wilma Browning Williams.
He was an avid Kentucky Wildcat, Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan.  A member of the Sardis Christian Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher for 50 years and had served as Sunday School Superintendent and Chairman of the church administrative board.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corp in the Korean War.  He loved to garden and tend to his yard.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Clara Shepherd Williams.  One brother, Duane (Llewellyn) Williams of May's Lick and a sister Nancye Williams Hesler of Maysville.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Richard Gregory Williams in 1976.
Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick with Rev. David Waggoner officiating. Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Steven Shepherd, David Shepherd, Kirk Alexander, Rick Alexander, Jim Harris and Buddy Holland.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Lang, John Alexander, Gary Tuel and Wayne Carpenter.  Visitation Noon until hour of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to Sardis Christian Church or Hospice of Hope.  Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
