Obituary

Robert Jay Adamson, 54, of Maysville passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was born on July 30, 1971in Lexington, Kentucky to Pam Wood Adamson and the late Ivan Davis Adamson.

Robert worked for Mansback Metal in Maysville when he was younger. He suffered a severe accident that resulted in paralysis; however, despite this medical challenge and being bound to a wheelchair, Robert did not let it hold him back. He always smiled, had a great attitude, and was friendly to everyone. Robert was a passionate follower of Christ who studied his bible often. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church where he grew in his faith and loved the Lord. Robert was an avid supporter of the UK Wildcats, enjoying both their basketball and football games whenever he could. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceding Robert in death is his father, Ivan Davis “Tubby” Adamson, grandparents, Ruth Adamson Burns and Ivan Adamson, and Norma Mingua and John R. Wood.

Survivors include his loving mother, Pam Wood Adamson of Maysville; brother, Jason Adamson of Louisville, Kentucky; nieces and nephews, Sydney Brook Adamson, Carley Grace Adamson, John Davis Adamson; great nieces and nephews, Jackson Applegate, Aria Grace Applegate, Willa Applegate and several extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be officiated by Pastor Larry Manning on Friday May 8, 2026, with a visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Maysville. Funeral will begin at 1:00 p.m. A visitation will be held on Thursday night, May 7, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home in May’s Lick. He will be laid to rest in the Shannon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Hunt, Dennis Mers, Jeff Martin, Barry McVey, Patrick Applegate, Donald Jay Adamson, and John Davis Adamson. Honorary pallbearers are Keith Fulton, Matt Fulton, Marvin Mers and Jackie Mers.
