Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Kimball Weigott II, 74, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, December 16, 2024, at his home. Bobby was born on November 12, 1950 in Paris, Kentucky to the late Robert and Evelyn Jefferson Weigott.

He was a 1968 graduate of Paris High School and attended Maysville Community College, Morehead State University, and Untied Electronic Technical College. Bobby joined East Kentucky Power in 1976 when Maysville's Spurlock Station was under construction. He worked as a computer and instrument supervisor. During his time at the plant, he made many friendships that would last a lifetime. Bobby had an immense passion and love for music and singing. He began singing during his freshmen year of high school and never stopped.  He especially loved singing barber shop quartet music. Bobby was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Limestone Choral, and the Dekalb Lodge.

One of his favorite past times was spending time with his grandson, Dawson, who he adored. He enjoyed toying around with electronics, mechanical systems, and tools, he even enjoyed a game of tennis occasionally.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert, and Evelyn Weigott.

Bobby is survived by his wife and best friend of 52 years, Joyce Weigott; son Wade, of Louisville, KY; grandson, Dawson Weigott of Louisville, KY; brother, Jeff Weigott of Lexington, KY; sister in law, Kathy Davis Metz of Paris, KY; several nieces, nephews; his exclusive group of "Church" friends both in Paris and Maysville and host of wonderful friends who will miss his presence tremendously.

Bobby will be remembered for his charismatic and joyful spirit, his colorful orator of speech, a guy who was always your friend, and his infectious smile that you would never forget.

A memorial visitation will be held to celebrate his life on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory 5043 Main St., May's Lick, KY 41055.
