Obituary

Ronald Wayne "Ron" England, 85, of Maysville, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville. He was born in Bracken County on February 24, 1938, son of the late Woodrow and Mary "Sis" High England. Mr. England was a retired barber of over fifty years  and owner of Silver Shears in Maysville. He graduated in 1956 from the Augusta High School. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served with the Black Sheep Squadron. "Ron" loved to show Hackney Road ponies and he won many awards with his show ponies. He was a member of the Millcreek Christian Church and later in life he attended the Augusta Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his three sons and their wives Tim (Leslie), Joey (Toni), and Jerry (Cindy) England; Five grand- children Megan England, Ashley (Chris) Robinson, Ryan (Emily) England, Jordon (Melissa) and Dalton England; six great-grand- children, Parker, Jameson and Tatum England, Bentley and Deacon Robinson and Nicholaus England; brother,  Johnny (Mary Belle) England. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Mitchell England; sisters and brothers-in-law Annie (Marvin)  Bach and Judy (Alva) Mefford. Graveside rites will be conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in the May's Lick Cemetery with Military Rites. Burial will follow.  In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive Maysville, KY  41056 Palmer Funeral Home and Crematory of May's Lick is assisting the family.
