MAYS LICK Roy Fritz, 90, a resident of Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center died Monday, November 29, 2010. He was born in Mason County May 6, 1920 the eldest son of the late Earl and Nellie Ryan Fritz.
After thirty years of service with the Farm Credit System, Mr. Fritz retired in 1985 as president and CEO of The Federal Land Bank Association of North East Kentucky.
He was the former president of The Kentucky Federation of Land Bank Associations and a director of The District Federation Board. He served on the Advisory Committee of The Federal Land Bank of Louisville for ten years.
In 1969, he was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel. He was a former landowner and farmer in the Mays Lick community.
Mr. Fritz was an active member of the Saint Rose of Lima Church and previously had been a member and chairman of the church council.
He was former member of the Mays Lick Lions Club, Loyal Order of Moose and served as commissioner on the Southern Mason Water District.
Mr. Fritz is survived by his wife of 67 years, Clarine Bridges Fritz, two sons, David (Lana) Fritz of Mays Lick and Mark (Donna) Fritz of Nicholasville, two granddaughters Amber (Johnny) McDowell of Alexandria, Ky, Hollie Fritz of Mays Lick, two grandsons Chase and Kyle Fritz of Nicholasville. He survived by one sister Lillian Schmidt of Maysville, two brothers Allen Fritz of Melbourne, Florida and James Fritz of Mayslick. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be intoned for Mr. Fritz at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2010 at St. Rose of Lima Church in Mays Lick. Rev. Verne F. Hogan officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation 5-7 P.M. Wednesday at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick with prayers at 4:45 P.M. Wednesday. Condolences to www.palmerfuneralhome.net
