Ruby A. Chamblin, 76, of Maysville passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 in West Union, OH.
Ruby was born in Mason County on November 11, 1939 daughter of the late Edward and Lila Allison Bailey. She was a member of Forman's Chapel United Methodist Church and was a 1957 graduate of May's Lick High School. Following graduation she worked for a short time at Western Southern Life in Cincinnati and later Wald Manufacturing and the Lucky Stride Shoe Factory in Maysville. She then worked for Browning Manufacturing/Emerson Electric for 30 years where she began as a balancer then inspector. Her last eight to ten years were spent working in the tool grinding room where she sharpened drill bits, sharpened tools and made/sized reamers of all sizes. She loved country music and had lots of albums/cassettes and C.D's from her favorite country singers in which one of her favorites was the late Conway Twitty. She had attended several of his concerts in Lexington, Louisville and Cincinnati. She was excited to have her picture taken with Conway in Maysville at one of the Clyde Barbour Expo Concerts. Every song he ever released she had a copy of it. She loved working with flowers in her yard and going antique shopping with her Aunt Edna Williams.
Survivors include her husband Bob Chamblin; a daughter, Crystal Mason; step-son Bob Chamblin, Jr.; Step-daughter, Lisa Chamblin; grandchildren, Kortney Mason, Shane Mason; step-grandchildren, Bob Chamblin III and Jacquilin Chamblin; a sister, Diana Bivens of Nicholasville and Dr. Rick (Alice) Bailey of West Union, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Marty Mason.
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick with Dr. Mike Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery with Bob Chamblin Jr., Bob Chamblin III, Kenton Bailey, Jeff Moran, Mike Doyle and Darrel Bivens serving as pallbearers.
