Russell C. "Russ" Thomas 74, of Maysville, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center.  He was a retired 33 year employee of Emerson Power Transmission and a longtime operator of Thomas Garbage Removal.  He was an active member of Lee's Chapel United Methodist Church and was a sports fan and loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Mason County Male Chorus.
Russell was born in Maysville on March 10, 1940 son of the late Russell Simon & Mamie Lee Conners Thomas.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn "Becky" Thomas.  Ten children,  Dwayne Thomas of Rectorville, Calvin Thomas Sr., Titina Thomas and Oona Gail Thomas all of Maysville, Tarita Jean Madison and Sivi Willis Thomas both of Lexington, Clayton Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida, Marlon Thomas of Maysville,  Galon Thomas of Lewisburg and Darius Davis  of Lexington.  23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, John Lee Thomas and Vincent Thomas both of Columbus, OH and Mitchell Thomas of Maysville; 4 sisters, Escaleta Lofton and Connie Warner of Cincinnati , Mary Breckenridge and Debra Hughes of Maysville.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 children, Russell & Susan Thomas and 2 sisters; Juliana Perry and Billie Gibbs and a brother Eddie Thomas.
Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Tuesday at Lee's Chapel United Methodist Church in Lewisburg with Rev. Greg Williams and Rev. James Turley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Washington Baptist Cemetery.  Visitation 5-9 P.M. on Monday at the church and after 11 A.M.
